Oxford

I loved Oxford! Too bad I’m almost done with my undergrad or else I would highly consider transferring (but I guess there is always grad school-haha jk). No but picture an ivy league, one of the oldest universities in the world with rich history and traditions all in 1 setting=amazing. We started off going to Christ Church, which is the most visited college at Oxford (oh and there’s 39 colleges total). Christ Church is well-known as the setting for parts of Alice in Wonderland, where Albert Einstein, John Locke, John Wesley, Lewis Carroll & many more head honchos attended. It is more recently known as where some of the filming for the Harry Potter movies took place (below is me & Ramzi at the Great Hall-a lot smaller than I had imagined).

I met up with Eric’s friend from the Air Force Bradford who is now attending Exeter College. My friend Julie and I got to have lunch with him in the dining hall-we felt like quite like Oxford students. Exeter’s College claim to fame it that is where JRR Tolkien went (think Lord of the Rings). He took us around to some of his fav places, which was cool to see Oxford from a students’ point of view (that is one of Bradford's fav view spots he took us to).

Other highlights of the day for me: seeing the river where the big boat races vs Cambridge take off, going to the St Mary’s Cathedral, being rejected to go into the library cuz I wasn’t a student and finding a very cute embroidered emblem Oxford sweatshirt!
