~ James Michener.
This is one of my favorite travel quotes that I have been thinking about a lot lately. Its funny because even though I've traveled around quite a bit, I still feel I have a lot to learn about accepting other cultures. I tend to kind of stick to my routine and one of the goals I had coming over here was to be more flexible and accepting.
So the 1st day I got over here I went to Whole Foods and bought all my normal foods, but I quickly realized that doing everything I usually do at home is not going to help me broaden my horizons. I'm not out eating fish & chips everyday, but I am trying to be better about just trying new things and eating what is cooked for me (even if it may not be what I would choose.) Instead of noticing how British customs are different than ours-I'm working on embracing the differences, even cars driving on the "opposite side", the long paper & only 4 ring binders, the lack of trash cans on the street, and the accents that can sometimes be hard to understand (just to name a few!)
Honestly though, I love it here and I want to live up to the quote above as much as possible over here in London because as it says-if not you might better stay at home!
Paige I love that quote too! Sounds like you have a great attitude and are going to have an amazing trip:)
